Department of Missouri

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Department of Missouri was a Union Military Department created on November 9, 1861 to consist of the states of Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Kentucky west of the Cumberland River. It was merged into the Department of Mississippi on March 11, 1862, and recreated on September 19, 1862 with many of the same states.
