Department of Annapolis

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Department of Annapolis was a Union Military Department constituted on April 27, 1861. It consisted of the counties within 20 miles on both sides of the railroad between Annapolis and Washington, D.C. (as far as Bladensburg). Its name was briefly changed to the Department of Maryland, before finally being merged into the Department of Pennsylvania on July 25th.
