Organized June, 1861, by authority of Col. Peabody, 25th Missouri, afterwards recognized by Gen. Hurlbut and Gen. Pope. Guard Hannibal & St. Joseph Railroad. Action at Blue Mills September 17. Mustered into six months Militia September 24, 1861.[1]
