SERVICE.--Action on Santa Rosa Island, Fla., October 9, 1861. Engagement with Confederate Batteries at Barrancas November 22-23. Bombardment of Forts McRae and Barrancas, Pensacola Harbor, January 1, 1862. Moved to Pensacola May 13, and duty there until September. Moved to New Orleans, La., thence to Baton Rouge December, and duty there until March, 1863. Operations against Port Hudson March 7-27. Operations in Western Louisiana April 9-May 14.
