- March 1863 - "Liberated" from Camp Butler, Illinois prisoner-of-War camp
- September 1864 - Reorganized west of the Mississippi River
- November 19, 1864 - Designated 2nd Field Battery
- May 26, 1865 - Surrendered by General E. Kirby Smith commanding the Trans-Mississippi Department
