- Multiple units skirmish at Fort Buchanan three miles southwest of present-day Sonoita on the east slope of what is now called Hog Canyon in Santa Cruz County, Arizona on February 17, 1865. The area was part of the original New Mexico Territory before it was broken off by the Confederate Army early in the war.
