Duty in the Defenses of Washington until April, 1862. Operations in the Shenandoah Valley May to August. Battle of Cross Keys June 8. Duty at Sperryville and Centreville until August. Pope's Campaign in Northern Virginia August 16-September 2. Fords of the Rappahannock August 21-23. Gainesville August 28. Groveton August 29. 2nd Bull Run August 30. Duty in the Defenses of Washington, D.C., until December.

Reconnaissance to Berryville, Virginia
March to Fredericksburg, Va., December 10-16. "Mud March" January 20-24, 1863. Duty at Brook's Station until April. Mustered out April 23, 1863, expiration of term. Three years' men consolidated to a Company April 22, 1863, and transferred to 68th Regiment New York Infantry May 5, 1863.
