Duty at New Berne until October, 1863. Skirmish at Washington, N. C., September 6, 1862. Foster's Expedition to Goldsboro, N. C., December 11-20. Action at Kinston December 14. Whitehall December 16. Goldsboro December 17. Expedition to relief of Washington April 7-10, 1863. Action at Blount's Mills April 9. Expedition to Swift Creek Village April 13-21 (Detachment). Expeditions toward Kinston April 16-21 and April 27-May 1. Wise's Cross Roads April 28. Expedition toward Kinston May 20-23. Gum Swamp May 22. Raid on Wilmington & Weldon Railroad July 3-7. Warsaw and Kenansville July 5. Moved to Newport News, Va., October 16-18. Duty there and in the Defenses of Portsmouth, Va., until June, 1864. Ordered to report to Gen. Butler June 13.
