Organized at Camp Taylor, Cleveland, Ohio, and mustered in May 11, 1864. Left State for Washington, D.C., May 14. Attached to 1st Brigade, DeRussy's Division, 22nd Army Corps, and assigned to duty on south side of the Potomac as garrison at Forts Smith, Strong, Bennett, Hagerty and other Forts and Batteries until August. Repulse of Early's attack on Washington July 11-12. Mustered out August 27, 1864.
Regiment lost during service 18 Enlisted men by disease.
