Organized at Cleveland, Ohio, and mustered in May 5, 1864. Moved to Washington, D.C., May 7, and assigned to duty as garrison at Forts Lincoln, Saratoga, Thayer, Bunker Hill, Slocum, Totten and Stevens, Defenses of Washington, until August. Attached to 1st Brigade, Haskins' Division, 22nd Army Corps, to July, 1864. 2nd Brigade, Haskins' Division, 22nd Army Corps, to August.
Mustered out August 23, 1864.
Regiment lost during service 2 Enlisted men killed and 10 Enlisted men by disease. Total 12.
