The Seven Days Battles before Richmond, Virginia
From Warriors of the Rebellion
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Seven Days Battles before Richmond, Virginia
- Confederate General Robert E. Lee drives George B. McClellan's invading troops away from Richmond and into a retreat down the Virginia Peninsula from June 25-July 1, 1862. The series of battles is sometimes erroneously referred to as the Seven Days Campaign, but it was actually the culmination of The Peninsula Campaign
and not a separate campaign in its own right.
- Also referred to as the Seven Days' Retreat from before Richmond
