- Union troops engage at Angley's Post Office near Allendale in Allendale County, South Carolina on February 4, 1864
- No reports
Location
There is some confusion as to the actual location of Angley's Post Office. The skirmish occurred in the general vicinity of the modern town of Ulmer, near Buford's Bridge on the Salkehatchie River. It appears on various maps as Angley's and Angley's Branch in reference to the river crossing, but no official post office is thought to have ever existed there. Many Army Official Records correspondences refer to this location, allowing for the possibility that a temporary one was set up during the war to handle dispatches from the area.
