- 17th Illinois Infantry / Company G troops skirmish at Allen in Randolph County, Missouri on July 28, 1864
There is some confusion regarding this skirmish:
- Allen Township is in Worth County and Glen Allen/Glenallen is a village in Bollinger County - niether of which are close enough to the area to be correct. There is an Allen on page 350 of the Military Atlas just west of Huntsville. This location is modern-day Moberly
- The 17th Illinois Infantry was mustered out on June 4, 1864, and the veterans and recruits were transferred to the (II) 8th Illinois Infantry. According to Dyer, the regiment was at Marhsall, Texas until September. This may be the incorrect unit.
