Battle of the Crater, Virginia
- Confined at Macon, Georgia
Postwar Career
- After the war, he lived in Nebraska
- Member of GAR Post #68 (John C. Fremont) in Neligh, Nebraska
- 1902 - Wrote memoirs of his experiences in the war, As If It Were Glory, published publicly in 1999
