- ↑ RWV (1) 0376 lists his name as "John Farehoov" and "John Jarelow" and both redirect to "John Tarchow." Neither "Farehoov" nor "Jarelow" list new information, so for now the name has been left this way.
- ↑ WLCW 0009 spells his name "John Tarehov".
- ↑ WLCW 0011 lists a separate person named "John Jarelow"in Company K, who was killed on August 12, 1862 at the Battle of Falls Church. Separate this information if two separate identities can be verified.
