Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Department of the Monongahela was a Union Military Department created on June 9, 1863 to consist of Pennsylvania west of Johnstown and the Laurel Hill mountain range, the counties of Hancock, Brooke, and Ohio in West Virginia, and the counties pf Columbiana, Jefferson, and Belmont in Ohio. It was merged into the Department of the Susquehanna on April 6, 1864.
