Regimental History and Service Record
Organized at Springfield, Ill., and mustered in for three months' service by Capt. John Pope, U.S. A., April 26, 1861. Moved to Cairo, Ill., and garrison duty there until July. Attached to Prentiss' Brigade. Expedition from Cairo to Little River June 22-23 (Cos. "C" and "H"). Mustered out July 26, 1861.
Regiment lost 9 by disease during service.
