- Originally intended to form part of (Fitzgerald's) 1st Confederate States Artillery, which failed to complete its organization
- Then assigned to (Harris') Virginia Heavy Artillery Battalion, which also failed to complete its organization
- June 21, 1862 - Battery disbanded per Adjutant and Inspector General's Office / Special Order #143
- Some men transferred to the 18th Virginia Heavy Artillery Battalion / Battery D
- Some men transferred to the 20th Virginia Heavy Artillery Battalion / Battery D
- NOTE: This unit does not appear in the Official Records series
