The (II) Bayou Teche Campaign

The Bayou Teche Campaign was a series of military engagements in Bayou Teche in Louisiana. Union commander Nathaniel P. Banks endeavored to drive back the Confederate forces in western Louisiana and gain a foothold into eastern Texas. The campaign lasted from October 3-November 30, 1863.

  • It is also referred to as the Western Louisiana Campaign and Operations in Teche Country
