  • June-August 1862 - Organized as the successor to the (I) (Dallas) Arkansas Artillery Battery
    • ? - Mustered in Confederate Service
  • January 1863 - Armed with two 6-lb. Smoothbores and two 10-lb. Parrotts
  • January 11, 1863 - Surrendered at Arkansas Post
  • March 1863 - "Liberated" from Camp Butler, Illinois prisoner-of-War camp
  • September 1864 - Reorganized west of the Mississippi River
  • November 19, 1864 - Designated 2nd Field Battery
  • May 26, 1865 - Surrendered by General E. Kirby Smith commanding the Trans-Mississippi Department
