Organized April 4, 1864, from 16th United States Corps de Afrique Infantry. Attached to 2nd Division, 13th Corps, to June, 1864. Colored Brigade, United States Forces, Texas, to July, 1864.
SERVICE.--Duty at Brazos Santiago, Point Isabel and Brownsville, Texas, until July, 1864. Consolidated with 95th United States Colored Infantry' July 6, 1864, to form [[[(II) 81st United States Colored Infantry]]. Redesignated December 10, 1864.
